The Embakasi East MP, Hon. Babu Owino has been arrested today at the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport(JKIA) alongside the Ruaraka constituency member of parliament TJ Kajwang in Nairobi and ODM politician and former Starehe MP aspirant on Thursday, November 16 afternoon while traveling to Kibra for a rally. They were held briefly in Kilimani police station before being released.
Miguna Miguna deported to Canada
They, together with other NRM leaders including Johnston Muthama, James Orengo ,Miguna Miguna had toured the airport in preparation to welcome their coalition leader Raila Amolo Odinga together with his counterpart Hon. Stephen Kalonzo Musyoka.
This happens contrary to what the police had said was a break of law as that was a restricted area and was out of bounds. The leaders insisted that they will go to welcome their leaders.The two leaders are expected in the country tomorrow 17th November.
The leaders together with their supporters marched to Kibra where they held a rally in preparation to welcome their leaders. They urged their supporters to come out in large numbers for grand welcome of their leaders. They told off police to stop intimidating them as Uhuru Kenyatta was once welcomed from the Hague who had gone to answer his charges against humanity in the court.
The police argue that this will compromise the security in the airport.

IEBC have been divided over what some of the commissioners term as incompetence and lack of trust for the chairman Wafula Chebukati.This is after the oust of the commissions CEO Ezra Chiloba. Chiloba was forced to proceed to three months compulsory leave through a memo after a decision by the majority of the commissioners. This was the decision made after the commission could not account for the resources used for the 2013/2017 general elections where the IEBC CEO was forced to leave to pave way for the audit.Read more...
