Kenyans and mostly the NASA/NRM members and supporters yesterday woke up to the news of Miguna Miguna deportation to Canada by the police following the approval by the Cabinet secretary for interior security and coordination of government Dr. Fred Matiangi.

This was after the police disobeyed court orders to bring Miguna before the judge in Milimani law courts in Nairobi on several occasions. The whereabouts of Miguna Miguna had remained scanty till he was allegedly forcibly deported to Canada.

The court had summoned the DCI boss Kinoti and the police boss Joseph Boinnet to appear before him personally with the client Miguna Miguna which was never to be. During the court session on Monday morning the judge assured Miguna lawyers that their client was somewhere in the building which appeared suspicious to the lawyers since they had not seen or heard from him yet.

Miguna was allegedly taken to six police stations before he was made to appear before Kajiado Resident Magistrate and charged with three accounts including consenting to administering an illegal oath to the opposition leader Hon. Raila Amolo Odinga, Attending an illegal gathering and being a member of an organized criminal group called NRM. He denied the charges and was released on 50000 bond and again quickly arrested on other accounts of citizenship where he was was alleged not to be in the country legally despite being a Kenyan by birth and owning a Canadian citizenship also.

Mr. Miguna says that he was taken to JKIA runway where he was kept waiting for a flight for five hours and later whisked away to Canada by the government.
