William Ruto while being interviewed by Mark Masai of NTV was asked to reveal how much he is worth. Too reluctantly Ruto said that he is not as rich as people claim. Ruto believes that his wealth is legally acquired and therefore he is not afraid of lifestyle audit and therefore he will be happiest person to be able to reveal his wealth and and its source when that time comes.
Ruto said that many thing have been written about him about his wealth which some is true and some not true.
Ruto is claimed to be a very wealthy man owning shares in many companies and properties too. Some of the properties that Ruto allegedly own include 680 HOTEL, Weston Hotel along Langata Road, Two choppers, a 1.2 billion palatial Home in Sugoi, Eldoret among other properties.
Ruto have come from a very poor background and this is why many Kenyans belief that he shouldn’t be where he is right now. Ruto together with his allies say that there is a narrative being driven by some elements in jubilee party and the media so as to taint his name.
Ruto is termed as a hard worker who has built his wealth right from scratch unlike many of the politicians and wealthy individuals who inherited their fortune from their parents.
Dr. Alfred Mutua called on the lifestyle audit of all the public servants before the president could make the same remarks while in Mombasa. Some allies of deputy president William Ruto are opposed to the lifestyle audit as they say that it was planned by some individuals in the state house who want to use it to bring down some politicians because of succession politics.READ MORE
