The expert eye witness who allegedly claimed was at the scene of the accident involving a Mercedes Benz carrying the late Nyeri governor Wahome Gakuru has been arrested in Nakuru by the Directorate of Criminal Investigations(DCI) in Nakuru. The man gave a story contradicted as the cause of accident that claimed the life of the governor. The police had established a tire burst as the cause of the accident.
The said that he was being driven behind the governor’s car when the accident occurred and a careless bodaboda driver blindly joined the road which made the governors driver swerve the Mercedes Benz to avoid hitting the bodaboda driver landing on the guard rail. He said he was traveling from Nyeri to Nairobi and introduced himself as a police officer.
The man identified as Dennis Ngengi Muigai also witnessed the chopper crash in lake Nakuru who introduced himself as a state pilot and a great friend of the late pilot Apollo Malowa. The man was taken to Nairobi and is held at Juja police station. He is being questioned for being in scenes of two tragic accidents and impersonating a police officer.
